Unauthorized Access to Our Web Server and Information Leak

Recently, there was an unauthorized access to our comprehensive information website,
Asahi Homes Ltd. (https://asahihomes.co.jp/), resulting in the leakage of information stored
on our server, including email addresses.

We sincerely apologize to all those affected by this incident. We would like to provide an
update on the current situation and the actions we have taken.

[Unaffected Websites]
The following three websites operated by us, Asahi Homes Ltd., were not affected by this
unauthorized access incident:

Rental Real Estate Division Website (https://www.asahihomes.jp/)
Service Apartment Search Website (https://extended-stay.asahihomes.co.jp/)
Coworking Space GOODWORK Website (https://gdwk.jp/)

[Confirmed Damages]
Website Tampering:
Traces of unauthorized modifications were found in the HTML and PHP files on our server
as of March 2, 2025, at 21:04 (JST).

[Email Transmission]
Emails were sent from the address hidetoshi.horiguchi@outlook.com with the following
content.

*The email was sent out in Japanese and the below is a translation.

Subject: “Apologies for the sudden email but your personal information has been leaked
from Asahi Homes Ltd.”

I am Hidetoshi Horiguchi, a security researcher.

Your personal information has been leaked from the mentioned website.
I will contact you with further details.”

The email transmission route has not yet been identified. Additionally, no records of these
emails were found on our mail server.

[Leaked Information]
A portion of the email addresses (141 records) of registered users of GOODWORK
(GDWK) stored on our server.

[Our Response]
Upon confirming the unauthorized modifications, we immediately restricted access to the
affected website.
We have identified unauthorized files and have disabled or deleted them accordingly.

[Cause of Unauthorized Access]
The unauthorized access may have exploited a vulnerability in the 'acmailer' mailing CGI
installed on the affected server. Therefore, we have disabled this system.
